A few days ago, the world said farewell to Etta James, also known as "Miss Peaches" and "The Matriarch of R&B". Starting her music career in the 1950's, her style of music spanned multiple genres and she is regarded as having bridged the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll. She gained fame with hits such as "Dance With Me, Henry", "At Last", "Tell Mama", and "I'd Rather Go Blind". James was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001, and the Grammy Hall of Fame in both 1999 and 2008. She is the winner of six Grammys and 17 Blues Music Awards.
Hers is another amazing voice that will be missed, although we can still enjoy her recordings. She was an influence to many.
